Aesthetic set of 2 hanging necklaces from the Sumba islands, used especially during ritual ceremonies. The shells are harvested by the inhabitants of the islands and then carved into the shape of coins before being threaded.These "coins" were at the time considered as having exchange value and are combined here with pieces of buffalo horns. Elegantly presented here on black matte metal stands.
