Glass Bauble 20 cm - Silver

OD100/20/S

New product

Very nice re-editions of glass Christmas baubles with a crackled finish, just as they were made in the 19 siècle.
Up until 1850 the tradition was that you decorated your Christmas tree with wreaths and dried fruit, in particular, dried apples. In 1858, a drought in the Vosges area of France decimated the annual apple harvest. That’s why a glass blower had the idea to blow his first baubles, colored red to imitate apples. This new tradition took hold very quickly.

Reconnecting with the glass blower’s tradition, these superb baubles of an exceptional size are overlaid with an oxidization-like patina which gives them a sumptuous and magical look, like jewels hung on the tree…
