nb : The expression Memento Mori comes from the Latin saying "remember you will die" that emerged in Medieval Christianism. Expressing the vanity of earthly life, it refers to "the Art of Dying" or Ars moriendi. It prones an ethic of detachment and asceticism. It is similar to another Latin saying, "sic transit gloria mundi" ("Thus passes the glory of the world.")

Tattooed Arm "Suikoden"
In the old days, the "Suikoden" chronicled the saga of a band of outlaws who opposed the Japanese governement, being in some ways the Asian equivalent of our Robin Hood. The story of the "Suikoden", with its message and image of heroism deeply touched the Japanese middle-class of the time. The latter so identified with the spirit of the story they started to sport the tattoos inspired by Kuniyoshi's etchings. These limewood tattooed arms are handcrafted in our workshops.
Tattooed Hand “Lucky”
Tattooing is a popular art, which nowadays is seen in all strata of society. In the past, it was an underground, street culture for outsiders, but it is now a real widespread phenomenon. Tattoos are ancestral and multicultural. Although they can be done on any part of the body, done on the hand, they have a particular symbolism : they’re not hidden, they’re proudly shown. These limewood tattooed arms are handcrafted in our workshops.
